Common Questions

What Patients Ask Us Most

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation lasting about 60–90 minutes. We'll talk about what's brought you here, your medical and mental health history, your goals, and what you've tried before. By the end, you'll have a clear, shared plan for moving forward. There are no wrong answers — just a conversation.

Do I need a diagnosis before I come in?

Not at all. Many patients come to us without any prior diagnosis — just a feeling that something needs to change. That's more than enough reason to reach out. Part of our job is helping you understand what's going on.

How do telehealth appointments work?

Telehealth visits happen via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that works on any smartphone, tablet, or computer. You'll receive a link before your appointment. No downloads required. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.

How long are follow-up appointments?

Follow-up appointments are typically 20–30 minutes and focus on your progress, any medication adjustments, and ongoing support. We offer flexible scheduling including early morning and evening slots to fit around your life.

How will I know what I owe before my appointment?

We verify your insurance benefits before your first appointment and give you a clear picture of expected out-of-pocket costs. No surprises, no billing confusion. We believe transparency is part of good care.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes — our psychiatric nurse practitioners are licensed to prescribe medication where appropriate. We take a careful, conservative approach — working collaboratively with you to find the right treatment and adjusting as needed over time. You're always in the driver's seat.
